WOOLganic - Australian Organic Wool
WOOLganic yarns are spun from merino wool that is grown in Australia in compliance with sustainable farming practices. These farming practices mean that no harsh chemicals are used on the sheep - no dips, no drenches, no back lining, no antibiotics. The grazing land has not been overstocked and has been given time to recover after grazing.
No chemicals have been used in the wool processing. WOOLganic yarns are cleaned or scoured using only hot water and detergent. Not only is this better for the environment but allows the wool to retain its natural softness which eliminates the need to use chemical finishes to re-soften the wool.
WOOLganic yarns are dyed with low impact dyes. They are metal free and biodegradable.
